We love to share the testimonials and stories from our users, and loved this one. We will let our user share his story on what The ProZone golf training aid was able to do this past weekend.
“Hey Guys,
I just wanted to pass along a recent success I had this past weekend, and I know The ProZone had everything to do with my success. I have been using The ProZone off and on for the last few months, but I never really committed to using it regularly. (Yeah, I know you have to use it in order for it to work.). I played in our Member/Member golf tournament at my local club this past weekend, and in the weeks leading up to the event, I have not scored particularly well. I couldn’t exactly put my finger on what was wrong with my game, just that I was really inconsistent with one aspect of my game or another. One day I would drive the ball well, but couldn’t putt. Another day I was all over the place with my driver, and putted lights out. I decided I was going to try and work on improving my golf swing in the days leading up to the tournament with The ProZone. (When I say a little time….I truly mean very little).
I spent about 25 minutes on Friday night hitting balls into a net in my home. I used my 9 iron, and just continued to hit balls focusing my attention on the sound the ball was making on the club face. After about 15 minutes, I realized how good my swing path had become, and I was hitting the ball on the center of the club face consistently, and I could feel that impact. It was a great feeling, and I was beyond curious as to exactly where the ball was hitting the club face. I had some of that tape the pros use when they fit your for clubs and I put that over the face of my 9 iron and continued to hit balls. I was hitting it square every single time while hitting on The ProZone, and had a sudden burst of confidence that my swing was getting better with each swing. It truly was an awesome feeling.
I woke up Saturday and before I went to the course, I hit balls for another 15 to 20 minutes. When I first started hitting balls, I was back to my old habit of inconsistent contact. After I hit about 10 to 12 balls, I was back again to hitting it on the screws. I left for the course, hit putts for 5 minutes, and then went to play in the event.
Now, before I give you the breakdown, I think it is fair to share that I am a 10 handicap, and my partner was a 13. We really had no chance at winning the Gross event, but thought if we played well, we could maybe place in the top 5 out of 40 plus teams.
The first event was a 9 hole scramble, and I just hit the ball on the screws all morning long. I am not disrespecting my partner in any way, but every drive and approach shot to the green was my shot. I was hitting the ball long and down the middle on my drives, and hitting the green in regulation. After 4 holes, we were 3 under, and I almost knocked it in the hole on the first Par 3 of the day from 148 yards. Just felt confident all day long because of the consistent contact I made. We finished the front 9 scramble shooting 31, five under Par.
We then moved to the dreaded alternate shot. This event can be brutal, and one shot can really put you in a bad spot. It really doesn’t matter how well you are hitting the ball if your partner continues to put you behind trees, in the lake, or shanks the ball 100 yards right in the rough on another hole. Once again, I hit the ball great for 9 holes. We had a few minor issues with a lake, some skulled shots, and a few putts that were 10 feet past the hole, but still went on to shoot a respectable 39 on the second event of the day. We were in 10th place with our final event on Sunday which was the better ball of partners.
I went home on Saturday night, and hit balls for about 20 minutes. My time to start hitting in the center of the club face was almost immediate. I felt great and just kept grooving that same swing into my mind.
I Could Have Easily Shot My Career Round
Sunday morning, a few more balls on The ProZone, and we teed off following the same practice strategy. I know this Testimonial is long so I will try and give you the highlights..
- 3 Birdies
- 1 Eagle
- Hit a 9 Iron 185 yards over a tree (needed to hit it really high) on the last hole of the day and two putted for a closing Par on the #1 handicap hole
What Kept Me From My Greatest Round Of Golf?
- Three 3 Putts
- 4 flubbed chips around the green. (On a Par 5, I was 15 yards off the green – Made 7!)
- Three Double Bogeys – all the mistakes around the green. (Thank God my partner played those holes well.)
- Two putts that really didn’t mean much because my partner had already made Par on the hole, and I quickly tried to tap them in without my normal routine and missed like an idiot.
Final Score…….I shot 78, we shot 1 over gross, and a 61 Net. We won the Net Championship.
In addition to winning, I also won 3 skins for the day, and one of 2 Super Skins for my eagle on 9 (where I was getting a stroke).
I have no doubt in my mind that the reason I hit the ball so well was because of The ProZone. I hit it pure all day long, but my lack of concentration and short game prevented me from posting a really, really good score. I was the butt of the joke for many of my friends because of my 78 with so many birdies and an Eagle, BUT, I didn’t care. I felt my swing had changed, and my contact was better on every shot (except my putts). I just wanted to thank you for creating such a great golf training aid, and report back what it had done for me. Now, if you can get to work on making a ProZone putting aid……that would be awesome!!!
Thanks Again! Jim Harvey “
